The Poem I Wrote for Someone I Miss

As of the last few months I've been in the process of moving on from someone I really thought I loved. As of now they're living their life and I'm living mine, but from time to time it tends to hurt a little bit. This is a quick poem I wrote a few months ago to express how it felt to lose them.

If loving you was like flying,

Then losing you was like crashing,

Tumbling out of the sky in a blur

Skidding to a halt under a periwinkle sky

The puffed clouds weeping cold tears for my heartbreak

Pitter-pattering onto my face and mixing with the salt on my cheeks.

The whole world cried for what I lost that day

And wept for what I felt.

For a moment, your eyes and your smile were all that it took to make me

So very happy

But now, unlike Angelica

I can't even keep that in my life.
